Entrepreneur Week celebrates the innovators that have built this region into a world-class tech cluster.

This event brings together Waterloo Region’s robust technology ecosystem. Startups meet mentors, professional service firms meet customers, investors meet companies with big ideas, government and blue-chip organizations share their victories and forge connections. Everyone soaks up the entrepreneurial atmosphere.

Canada 3.0 is a two-day, annual event that brings all levels of private and public sector together to move Canada toward a digital future. Importantly, the conference looks to set goals, define policies and spur immediate action.

Over 2000 people attended the 2010 conference in Stratford, Ontario. Five ‘streams’ of discussion were available, with keynotes by Minister Tony Clement and thinker Tony Chapman, plus a showcase of digital media companies.

Our day-long Tech Leadership Conference brings world-class speakers to speak on hot-button technology issues. The conference looks to bring insight, practical tactics and leading trends to regional technology companies.

Tech Leadership Conference keynotes Noel Biderman, William Taylor and Clayton Christensen

Tech Leadership 2010 brought in author Clayton Christensen, Fast Company founder and author Bill Taylor and Avid Life media’s Noel Biderman, along with many other distinguished speakers.

The conference also features an interactive Tech Expo: a showcase of local startups, growing companies and established enterprise.

This day-long forum is designed exclusively for information leaders from across industry in Waterloo Region. Keynotes, professional development and practical information provide CIOs with the latest trends and more.

Enable U attracted hundreds of attendees from across North America

Enable U is a two-day conference that brings together technology organizations from across North America. The conference helps participants develop frameworks and strategies for building their own entrepreneur-focused technology clusters, supported by strong enabling organizations.

This invitation-only evening helps tech executives connect on a personal level. Each year features an inspiring speaker from the world of business and beyond.

This year’s guest was Governor of the Bank of Canada, Mark Carney. Previous speakers include Hall of Fame hockey player Mike Bossy, Jim Balsillie of Research In Motion, and Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, management guru and bestselling author.

Growth Strategy Workshops are half or full-day sessions that address a particular need for tech companies — marketing, sales, attracting talent, business strategy, or advocacy have all been workshop fodder.

Few things are as satisfying as a free breakfast

Our techworking breakfasts feature a single speaker, who shares war stories and strategies from their respective company’s trenches.

Speakers in 2009 included John Baker, CEO, Desire2Learn, Ted Hastings, CEO, Tsavo, Ray Simonson, CEO, Coreworx, Rod Foster, CEO, Covarity, & Ray DePaul, (former) CEO of RapidMind.

Some events are open only to Communitech network . For those open to all, members pay a reduced fee to attend.

Communitech Golf Tournament
Our perennially sold-out golf tournament is a great way to have fun, renew ties, and perhaps do a little business on the course. The day features lunch, dinner and prizes. And a little golf.

Communitech Connect
Held at least once each year, this event helps introduce new members to the network, renew old bonds and meet the Communitech team. We also use this opportunity to help members understand how our programs and services can help businesses develop and expand.
