From startup to SME – and beyond

We work with hundreds of clients. Some come to us with no more than a big idea, others are funded, maturing companies. We help client companies tackle both their unique challenges and issues that beset all technology organizations.

The Canadian Digital Media Network, Communitech’s national initiative, provides digital media startups with full-time tenancy and services at our Kitchener location (nicknamed “The Communitech Hub”) in joint corporation with Waterloo’s Accelerator Centre. Space is still available for tenants.

The Program

Communitech membership is free for startups. In addition, we have a close relationship with the Accelerator Centre and work closely with tenants at the Hub and those in their own space.

On being accepted to the program, clients are assigned an advisor, usually an executive-in-residence (EIR). Our executives-in-residence are veteran technology professionals who have created, managed and sold companies as well as developed products in dozens of tech sectors.

Our team’s diverse competencies and deep networks help you tackle a range of challenges, including fundraising, sales, marketing, intellectual property management and product development.

With the help and support of our Executive-in-Residence our company has been selected to pitch to a highly recognized investment group. Communitech is an absolute must for startups.

Funding

Whether you are seeking angel investment, VC financing, or government funding, we help companies prepare your story and get the process rolling.

We connect people to a broad network of startup resources. We’ll link you to funders, other entrepreneurs, university researchers, strategic partners, and experienced service providers.

Resources

Communitech is the local agent for the provincial Market Readiness Program, which provides free access to a market research team and a library of market research reports, along with funding for projects that will bring products to market.

Talent

We can help you find the talent you need through our workforce development programs, including waterlootechjobs.com, on-campus recruiting and tech career fairs.

Education

Communitech helps you both learn and build your network through a variety of programs including our Peer to Peer groups, Techworking breakfasts, and conferences.
