For the second time in a week, Deloitte has honoured a Waterloo Region technology company for leadership in its field.

Desire2Learn, a Kitchener-based company whose software helps institutions create e-learning environments, was honoured with a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Leadership Award for its ability to create a distinct competitive advantage in a high-growth market.

The honour follows recent news that FleetCarma of Waterloo has been named among this year’s recipients of the Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award. FleetCarma’s predictive total-cost-of-ownership programs help fleet managers to determine which hybrid and electric vehicles would work best for their companies. The company has grown to include a related venture called CrossChasm, which helps those who bring the best hybrid and electric vehicles to market.
