Frequently asked questions

Businesses will be the employer of record for the students and will need to provide them with company onboarding, as well as day-to-day supervision. In addition, the person supervising the students will need to participate in weekly meetings with the students and AltaML to talk about progress. This person should also be available to answer questions and provide guidance and resources to the students regarding company specific topics. Other people within the company will need to meet with the students as required.

The person supervising the students will also need to complete their co-op evaluations, with input from AltaML and Communitech where applicable. 

AltaML will be meeting with the students weekly to talk about progress. In addition, the students will have the ability to reach out to the AltaML team when they have questions. 

Communitech and AltaML will work together to hire the students that best fit the Software Development and Product Management roles. 

Commuitech will put the student teams together and match them with the participating businesses.

The students’ wages will be shared between Communitech and the business.
