So says Chamath Palihapitiya, founder and CEO of Social Capital, whose mission it is to advance humanity by solving the world's hardest problems – in healthcare, education, consumer enterprise and financial services. He is a former Facebook senior executive who helped the social media giant’s phenomenal growth

The Sri Lankan-born, Canadian-raised Palihapitiya acts as a social conscience for Silicon Valley and the greater tech community — seeking more gender and cultural diversity in executive ranks and more attention paid to solutions of social problems.

In July, the tech website Business Insider published an interview in which the ever-candid Palihapitiya offered a taste of some of the topics he’ll explore as a keynote speaker at the Waterloo Innovation Summit, September 14 to 16.
