We see a lot of great hackathons around here. However, Sortable’s upcoming event has a unique twist that we haven't seen before: they want you to create something new with data found on the web.

Sortable {data} is a one day event focused on making something new with existing data. The Sortable people suggest such data as government info, different APIs or public data sets. The sky’s the limit for what kind of data you can use as long as it’s within fair use.

The Sortable team is hosting the event at their Waterloo office. They’ll be feeding you and offering some pretty fantastic prizes including a MacBook Air. Space is limited so you’ll need to register.
