In the summer of 2016 Canada's Open Data Exchange (ODX) will partner with the City of Guelph to launch the City of Guelph Civic Solutions Accelerator.

The Civic Accelerator is a new program that aims to solve big City problems. Teams from startups, mid-sized companies, and other organizations will work to solve one of a number of city problems in a commercially-viable way using open data. It is a blend of business incubator, challenge competition and prototyping, and is run inside of Guelph City Hall as part of the Open Guelph initiative. Partners include Innovation Guelph, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce, and CBaSE, the University of Guelph Centre for Business and Student Enterprise.

This summer, the Accelerator will release challenge statements and invite teams to propose innovative technology solutions. The rules, timelines, and specific problem statements for candidate companies will be made available later this spring.
