For Canada’s 150th birthday, we’re shining a spotlight on Vidyard, a B2B software company specializing in analytics that tracks how online video is viewed, and a uniquely Canadian success story.

After completing the Y Combinator program in Silicon Valley, CEO Michael Litt and co-founder Devon Galloway decided to bring the company back to Canada, setting up shop in Waterloo Region. Many of Litt’s advisors — some highly respected figures in the Valley — advised against the move. Now, Litt says the Canadian tech ecosystem the reason Vidyard is still around and succeeding.
