KITCHENER, ONT., June 26, 2023 — Communitech is accepting applications for its third cohort for the Fierce Founders Uplift program.

Since 2014, Communitech's Fierce Founders initiatives have helped women founders grow their businesses. In December 2020, Communitech launched Fierce Founders Uplift,  which offers support to women and non-binary founders from equity-deserving groups with early stage businesses. Since the launch, 20 founders have successfully completed the program.

Participatants will receive $10,000 provided by our partners at BDC, Google for Startups, Fed Dev Ontario, Government of Ontario, and the City of Kitchener. They will also receive one-on-one counsel and mentorship from Communitech growth coaches. Funding provided through the initiative is not required to be matched by the founders themselves, which is often a requirement in other startup programs. 

Fierce Founders Uplift is a part of the Fierce Founders series of programs. Participants of Fierce Founders Uplift can also apply for Fierce Founders Intensive Track, a program for women and non-binary founders to receive $50,000 in matching funds and hands-on experience with Communitech growth coaches. Founders with businesses not yet ready to participate in Fierce Founders Uplift are encouraged to apply to Fierce Founders Bootcamp,  a fast-paced business and personal-growth program for earlier stage companies.

Applications for Fierce Founders Uplift will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EST July 12, 2023.
